2 indicted in series of North Olmsted robberies
Two Cleveland area men accused of a series of residential burglaries have been indicted by the Cuyahoga County grand jury on burglary and theft charges, according to a news release.
Nicholas J. Frey, 36, of Cleveland, and Russell J. Phillips, 32, of Parma, were indicted on March 20 on seven felony counts of burglary, two felony counts of grand theft, a single felony count of theft, and three misdemeanor counts of petty theft, according to court records.
The pair, who were arrested Feb. 24 by the North Olmsted Police Department, are accused of seven burglaries in North Olmsted between December and February 2018. More than $80,000 in merchandise, including jewelry, cash, and small electronics, was taken by forced entry.
According to the indictment, the suspects are accused of residential burglaries in the 4500 and 4600 blocks of Azalea Lane, the 23200 block of Sharon Drive, the 28200 block of Gardenia Drive, the 4400 block of Dogwood Trail, the 27800 of Marquette Drive.
According to the release, North Olmsted Detectives Bill Saringer and Paul Miller, along with the cooperation of other agencies, worked on the case leading to the arrests and indictments.
Police also believe Frye and Phillips may be responsible for additional burglaries in surrounding cities.
