Todd M. “Bubba” Engle, age 34, of LoMay rain, passed away on Wednesday, 2, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born May 7, 1983 in Lorain to Rodger and Karen (nee: Heyer) Engle, he had been a longtime Amherst resident.

Bubba was a Physical Education teacher at Nord Middle School with AmDistrict. herst Exempted Village School

Todd married Corrie Holland on July 7, 2012 at Fairchild Chapel in Oberlin. Todd played on the Amherst Steele Football State Playoff teams in 1999 and 2000, earning Lorain County’s Lineman of the Year in 2000. Bubba graduated from Baldwin Wallace with a Bachelor of Arts and later earned his Master of Education Degree from Ashland University.

Bubba coached football, track & baseball from 2003 until 2015 at Amherst High School and Clearview High School, where he coached his nephews Roger and Drew Engle. Todd encouraged Corrie and assisted her in finding her birth mother in British Columbia.

Todd and Corrie led the youth group at Great Lakes Church, continuing during his illness. He was a wedding officiant, lito censed in Ohio to Solemnize Marriages. He was honored preform wedding ceremonies for many friends.

Survivors include his wife of over five years, Corrie (nee: Holland) Engle of Lorain; parents, Rodger and Karen (nee:Heyer) Engle of Amherst; brother, Roger (Miriam) Engle of Lorain; nephews, Roger, Drew and Brady Engle of Lorain; and many extended family, friends and his dog, Molly.

Visitation will be from 12 until 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Amherst Steele High School Football Field with a service and time of sharing at 4 p.m. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral Home, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd, Amherst, OH 44001.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Amherst. Pasofficiu­p tor Josh Smith of Family Fellowship in Amherst will be ating the services.

Donations are suggested to a scholarshi­p fund to be set in Bubba’s name. Please check back for details.
