Program registration will soon begin for a growing, positive youth program.

The Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio’s fall program will be held at over 75 locations across Northeast Ohio and will offer 10 weeks of uplifting and educational lessons that incorporates physical activity into a research-based curriculum, according to the news release.

Registration opens Aug. 9.

“This confidence-building program teaches girls that who they are and what they have to say matters,” said Executive Director Robyn Cutler. “We give them a place to feel comfortable in their own skin, teach them that their unique gifts and qualities are what makes them special and that we can all have a positive impact on the world around us.”

Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio serves girls in third through eighth grades in Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit Counties.

There are two programs available — Girls on the Run for thirdto fifth-grade girls and Heart and Sole for sixthto eighth- graders.

“Our mission is to serve every girl that wishes to participate and financial aid is available at all locations,” Cutler said.

The program is in its 12th year and continues to expand. Girls on the Run is adding 20 new locations to its growing list of program sites, the release also said.

As the sites grow, so does the need for volunteers.

In fact, several sites are pending due to a need for coaches, said Communications Coordinator Erin Mathews.
