Fall Fest: Crafters and those interested in having a flea market table to sell their items area sought for the Fall Fest, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 8 at Sts. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church, 1500 Lincoln Blvd. Lorain. The church is behind the Sheffield Centre on North Ridge Road and the Apples Store. Russian Food Festival: Russian Food Festival at SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 2238 E. 32nd St., Lorain, will be 3:30-8 p.m., Aug. 18. Featured menu items will be fish fry, Russian Imperial Dinner, Beef Stroganoff, Borscht, pierogi dinners, stuffed cabbage, cabbage and noodles, kielbasa and kraut sandwiches, Russian hoagie, pierogi sales by dozens. There also will be Russian-style crepes (blini), nutrolls, poppy seed

Summer lunches: St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain, will host a Summer Lunch on the Lake from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., every Friday through Aug. 24. A meal will be served for $6 which includes three pierogi (potato and cheese, BBQ chicken or Buffalo chicken) with a bag of chips and a soda, or $5 for three pierogi only. There will be outdoor space available for dining, weather permitting Pray the rosary: All faiths and all nations are invited to pray the Rosary of the Unborn with us at St. Anthony of Padua Church, in the Eucharistic Chapel, 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the first Saturday of every month. Rosaries are prayed the first Saturday of every month, every half hour, on the hour. Worship service: Community Congregational United Church of Christ, 379 S. Main St. Amherst, hosts worship service and Sunday School (for ages 3 and older) at 10 a.m. every Sunday. Public invited to worship: Fields United Methodist Church, 34077 Lorain Road, North Ridgeville, invites the public to join in worship at 7:30 Wednesday evenings. No need to be a member; worship is open to everybody who just wants to take 30 minutes or so to recharge their spiritual batteries midway through the week. Free community meal: On the last Sunday of every month from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Journey of Faith Church in North Ridgeville cooks and serves a fresh hot meal for those in need in the community. This is done in connection with Community Care in North Ridgeville and other churches in the area. The community meal provides more than a hot meal though. It provides a time to sit down and relax with others in the community while being cared for.
