Fairview pounds ground to first win
Fairview managed to pull off its first win of the season over Firelands, 35-6, on Sept. 21.
The Warriors took charge in their opening defensive drive blocking the Falcons punt, with Ian McClintock returned the block for 23 yards, giving Fairview the lead early in the first quarter, 7-0.
Fairview continued to score, this time on a 1-yard run coming from Tommy McNamara for his first score of the game. The Warriors took a 14-0 lead with 18 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
The Falcons put six on the scoreboard in the second quarter on a 6-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Blake Ruffer to wide receiver Caden Bomback.
Fairview remained in the driver seat, though, scoring on a 4-yard dash from running back Jack Provenza,
increasing the lead to 21-6.
Provenza added to the Warriors lead with his second score of the night on a 15-yard run.
The Warriors capped the first win of the season with McNamara scoring his second touchdown of the night with a 4-yard score.

FAIRVIEW » McNamara ran the ball 12 timed for 33 yards, scoring a pair
of touchdowns. Provenza rushed 15 times for 45 yards and two touchdowns as well.
FIRELANDS » Quarterback Blake Ruffner was 6-for-14, throwing for 52 yards and a touchdown. Ruffner also rushed the ball 12 times for 30 yards.
