Woman faces drug, manslaughter charges
A 53-year-old Vermilion woman will be arraigned Nov. 8 on involuntary manslaughter and drug charges after authorities say she supplied drugs that killed a man.
Deborah A. Ditto was secretly indicted Nov. 1 in Lorain County Common Pleas Court on charges of involuntary manslaughter, corrupting another with drugs and trafficking drugs in connection with the April 5, 2017, overdose death of 40-year-old Jason Dunbrook, of Vermilion.
Lorain County Prosecutor Dennis Will said Ditto had driven Dunbrook to Mercy Health Hospital in Lorain, when he appeared to be overdosing on a cocktail of opiates and later died.
“She provided the drugs to him in this case that contributed to him overdosing and dying,” he said.
Ditto is at the Lorain County Jail on $75,000 bond.
