Police to honor Sgt. Tom Nimon
The funeral for Lorain police Sgt. Tom Nimon will start at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at Gluvna Funeral Home, 3224 Broadway, according to a Lorain police news release.
In Nimon’s honor, a 21gun salute in the parking lot will start at 8 p.m., the release said.
This notification is to inform the surrounding neighborhood so the rifle salute does not get mistaken for random shooting in the area, according to the release.
A large crowd is expected throughout the day for his wake, which will run from 3 to 8 p.m.
Vehicles will be parked on several side streets and additional parking will be made available on Broadway as well, the release said.
The police department asked that residents keep Nimon and his family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
