Goal­keeper Maeve John­ston, at times, has put the team on her back with save af­ter save. Their of­fense, par­tic­u­larly in the sec­ond half of games, has been strong led by sopho­more Kealy Sul­li­van. And Bay broke through a tough dis­trict de­feat­ing Holy Name and Rocky River. In the re­gional run, they beat Mansfield Madi­son and Wa­pakoneta. And the state semi­fi­nal, they topped Lake Catholic. Five of the six post­sea­son wins have been by one goal. They don’t win pretty, but all that mat­ters is they find a way. And they’ve in­stilled a be­lief in them­selves that can’t be bro­ken. They face a Cincin­nati In­dian Hill team that won the state ti­tle last sea­son and beat Big Wal­nut in a state semi­fi­nal, 2-1. The Braves fea­ture Anna Podo­jil, who was Ms. Soc­cer in Ohio last sea­son. Her sis­ter, ju­nior El­lie Podo­jil, has helped form a po­tent 1-2 at­tack. They both are com­mit­ted to Arkansas. The Braves have only al­lowed 11 goals this year and has outscored their post­sea­son op­po­nents, 25-4. They were last de­feated Oct. 10 by Cincin­nati Hills League cham­pion Wy­oming, 1-0. — Fuad Shal­hout
