2 face felony charges after THC is found in hotel room
A 26-year-old Michigan man and 25-year-old Bay Village woman are facing felony drug charges after police say they found THC in a hotel room Nov. 3.
Jacob H. Saladonis, of Napoleon, Mich., was charged with trafficking and illegal manufacture of drugs, both third-degree felonies, according to a Westlake police news release.
Jacqyelyn M. Sartschev was charged with felony complicity for the same offenses, the release said.
Officers responded at 8:30 a.m. to Red Roof Inn, 29595 Clemens Road, for suspicious behavior in the parking lot.
A vehicle was stopped leaving the area after the driver committed a traffic violation, according to the release.
A K-9 sniff of the vehicle prompted further investigation.
In all, over a kilogram of illegal THC/cannabis oil in cartridges was recovered from the vehicle, the release said.
A follow up led to a room at the hotel where it appeared someone was manufacturing drugs.
Paraphernalia including chemistry beakers and written instructions were recovered, the release said.
In addition, an additional 3 kilograms of THC oil was located.
Sartschev rented the room for Saladonis which led to her charges, the release said.
It is estimated that these narcotics would sell for over $100,000 on the street.
Saladonis is free on a $10,000 bond, and Sartschev is free on a $5,000 bond.
Both must appear at 9:45 a.m. Nov. 13, at Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.
