Partners With Paws holding annual holiday raffle

Partners With Paws of Lorain County Inc. is asking the community to participate in its annual Raffle To The Rescue fundraiser to benefit homeless animals in and around Lorain County.

The raffle runs until Jan. 24 offering a grand prize of $1,000 to a lucky winner.

New this year, anyone purchasing six tickets — which helps rescue one dog — will be entered into a drawing for $100, according to Lorie A. Wilber, president and founder of Partners With Paws of Lorain County.

Wilber said the help of the organization’s supporters has made the fundraiser an annual success. She recalled one year the drawing raised up to $1,400.

Wilber said each dollar donated is one step closer to help an animal getting rescued.

“For this year’s Raffle To The Rescue, tickets are only $10,” she said. “But, if you buy six, that’s the money donated to save one dog at the dog pound.”

Drawings for both the $1,000 grand prize and the $100 bonus will take place Jan. 25. Both winners will be notified by phone.

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased by mailing a check or money order payable to and sent to Partners With Paws, P.O. Box 277, Oberlin, OH 44074.

Tickets also are available using PayPal or at WOBL/ WDLW Radio, 45624 U.S. Route 20 in Oberlin.

All proceeds will benefit Partners With Paws of Lorain County to financially assist other local animal rescue groups.

The funds will help rescue canines from dog pounds and help other animals in need with their health and general care such as vetting expenses like spay, neuter, vaccines and surgeries if needed, and boarding fees if required, until adoption takes place.
