Se­nior so­cia­bles to meet: St. An­thony Se­nior So­cia­bles will meet at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 13 in the So­cial Hall 1305 East Erie Ave., Lorain. The cost for mem­bers is $8. Com­mu­nity Messy Church Ser­vice: First United Methodist Church of Welling­ton, 127 Park Place, will be hav­ing a Com­mu­nity Messy Church Ser­vice from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 9. All are wel­come.

In­ter­faith col­lab­o­ra­tion: A free In­ter­faith Col­lab­o­ra­tion, fea­tur­ing The Cleve­land Stake Choir from The Church of Je­sus Christ of Lat­ter-day Saints along with St. Joseph’s Par­ish in Avon Lake and Choral Spec­trum of Lorain County will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 9 at 25000 West­wood Road, West­lake.

Live Na­tiv­ity: First Bap­tist Church of Sh­effield Lake, 633 Har­ris Road, will hold a live na­tiv­ity from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 22. All are in­vited to the out­door live na­tiv­ity rep­re­sent­ing the story of Je­sus’ birth. There will also be a pet­ting zoo. Then, come in­side to en­joy hot co­coa and dec­o­rate cook­ies you can take home. The first 100 ve­hi­cles will re­ceive a free car mag­net com­mem­o­rat­ing the birth of Christ. Christ­mas con­cert: Lorain Light­house United Methodist Church, 3015 Meis­ter Road, Lorain, in­vites the com­mu­nity to join for a free Christ­mas con­cert at 7 p.m. Dec. 14. The Christ­mas con­cert is be­ing put on by Re-Cre­ation, a singing and danc­ing group of young peo­ple who travel the U.S. per­form­ing for vet­er­ans in the VA hos­pi­tals. Re­Cre­ation presents spark­ing, en­er­getic pro­fes­sional en­ter­tain­ment by nine ex­it­ing young per­form­ers who of­fer dy­namic vo­cal ren­di­tions of clas­sic Christ­mas mu­sic. Ad­mis­sion is free for this event but if you are able, we ask you bring a non­per­ish­able item or peanut but­ter for the church’s food pantry.

Meet­ing, Christ­mas party: St. Ann Lodge Br. 114 FCSLA will hold its an­nual meet­ing and Christ­mas party at 1 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Amer­i­can Slo­vak Club 2915 Broad­way in Lorain. Re­mem­brance ser­vice: Can­dles will glow on Dec. 9 when tens of thou­sands of be­reaved par­ents, sib­lings, grand­par­ents, rel­a­tives and friends around the globe join to­gether to light re­mem­brance can­dles to honor the mem­o­ries of chil­dren who have died but will never be for­got­ten. Unity Spir­i­tual Cen­ter, 23855 Detroit Road, West­lake, will of­fer its fourth an­nual ser­vice of re­mem­brance and heal­ing dur­ing the hol­i­day sea­son for those who lost a loved one too soon. The ser­vice will be­gin at 6 p.m. and will con­tinue to 8 p.m. with can­dle light­ing at 7 p.m. This ser­vice will be free and open to all re­gard­less of faith or no faith back­ground. For­ever Christ­mas: The Amherst Com­mu­nity Cho­rus will present “For­ever Christ­mas” at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at St. Joseph so­cial hall in Amherst. The pro­gram will fea­ture pop­u­lar chil­dren’s fa­vorites such as Frosty the Snow­man and Ru­dolph as well as tra­di­tional re­li­gious carols like O Holy Night and Celtic Silent Night. Other sea­sonal fa­vorites like Home For the Hol­i­days and I’ll Be Home For Christ­mas are in­cluded as well as more pop­u­lar songs like Do You Hear What I Hear, Mary Did you Know, and Be­lieve from the Po­lar Ex­press. The cho­rus con­cludes with And The Glory of the Lord and The Hal­lelu­jah Cho­rus from Han­del’s Mes­siah. Tick­ets are for sale only at the door for adults at $6, se­niors at $5, stu­dents at $4 and chil­dren 5 and un­der are ad­mit­ted free. Home­made re­fresh­ments af­ter the con­cert are in­cluded in the price of the ticket. The cho­rus is be­gin­ning its 23rd year un­der the di­rec­tion of Si­mone and Steve Gall.
