Suspects arrested following theft that leads to chase in Westlake
Police arrested two suspects Dec. 11 following an alleged theft that led to a multiple car crash in Westlake.
Officers responded at 1 p.m. to Hyland Software, 28500 Clemens Road, for an altercation in the parking lot, according to a Westlake police news release.
While officers were responding, it was relayed the incident possibly was a theft that had occurred in the parking lot that employees had interrupted, the release said.
A suspect was detained in the parking lot and another was in a vehicle.
Officers began pursuing the suspect vehicle that left the scene assisted by the Bay Village Police Department.
The pursuit crossed into Bay Village and then back into Westlake where the suspect vehicle struck several other cars on Detroit and Cahoon roads, according to the release.
There were injuries that did not appear to be lifethreatening, the release said.
Both suspects are in custody. A follow-up investigation continued that required that the intersection at Detroit and Cahoon roads to remain closed.
