Col­lege to host MLK Jr. cel­e­bra­tion

Lorain County Com­mu­nity Col­lege’s Of­fice of Stu­dent Life will host a Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Cel­e­bra­tion called “The Pur­suit of De­ter­mi­na­tion through a Uni­fied Ef­fort” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Jan. 23.

King will be hon­ored for his work to­ward racial equal­ity and so­cial jus­tice for all peo­ple and for his ded­i­ca­tion to non­vi­o­lence at the pro­gram tak­ing place in Col­lege Cen­ter Com­mons, 1005 N. Abbe Road in Elyria.

Guest speaker Ken­neth Glynn, adult out­reach as­so­ciate from LCCC’s School and Com­mu­nity Part­ner­ships, and a re­cent DREAM Scholar, will speak on work­ing to­ward goals with the sup­port of a com­mu­nity. LCCC Pres­i­dent Mar­cia Ballinger also will speak.

Key­boardist James Jones will pro­vide mu­sic en­ter­tain­ment.
