A 21-year-old Castalia man was taken to the hospital Feb. 10 after his truck hit a pole in Margaretta Township.

Officers responded to the scene at 11:54 p.m. for the man who was traveling east in the 4200 block off state Route 101 but lost control and went of the left side of the road, according to Erie County Sheriff Paul Sigsworth.

The man, in his 2010 GMC Sierra, hit a mailbox and a utility pole before coming to rest, Sigsworth said.

The man was transported to Firelands Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, the sheriff said.
