Police provide updates on shootings
The Lorain Police Department provide more detailed information on four victims in two separate shootings incidents Feb. 8 and early Feb. 9, according to a news release.
At 10:03 p.m. Feb. 8, officers responded to an address in the 1300 block of West 17th Street where two people, a 23-year-old and a 26-year-old, both of Lorain, were found with gunshot wounds, the release said.
The victims were transported to Mercy Health Regional Medical Center before they were flown to a Cleveland trauma center for treatment, the release said.
The investigation into the incident is continuing and additional information will be released at a later time, according to the release.
In the Feb. 9 shooting outside a bar, officers were called at 2:34 a.m. to the intersection of Colorado Avenue and Henderson Drive and found two males suffering from gunshot wounds, the release said.
A 32-year-old Lorain man was found behind a nearby building with multiple gunshot wounds and a 34-yearold Lorain man was found in the middle of the street on Colorado Avenue with a single gunshot wound, according to the release.
Initial information indicated there was a fight outside the bar at closing time.
During the fight, gunshots rang out and everyone fled from the immediate area on foot.
The incident still is under investigation by the Lorain Police Department Detective Bureau.
