The quest for the Division II state bowling tournament ended one step short for area bowlers on Feb. 18 at Buckeye Lanes in North Olmsted. The Clearview squad finished 13th in the team race, while junior Derrick Hollis of Lutheran West placed 26th in the individual portion of the tournament. Clearview had a composite score of 3,207 pins. The Clippers shot a 2,399 in the individual games, with scores of 821, 751 and 827. In the six Baker games, which calls for each team to bowl in sequential order, the Clippers’ top game was 155. In the individual portion of the tournament, Hollis rolled a 535 series, with a high game of 205. Fairport won the team title with a team score of 4,244. Individual medalist was Fairport freshman Ryan Chipps with a 672 series.
