JVS students compete at state event; advance to nationals
Students from the Lorain County JVS Culinary Academy, Early Childhood Education program and a few Career Exploration sophomores, recently participated in the state competition of Family Career & Community Leaders of America held in Columbus.
Early Childhood Education instructor Hilary Duffala shared how proud she was of all of the students.
“These students worked so hard and have made everyone at Lorain County JVS so proud. Their work and dedication has really paid off,” she said.
Twelve students earned the opportunity to attend the national competition being held in Anaheim, California, in July.

AMHERST
Maddison Morrow (Career Exploration sophomore) received a gold medal in the Promote and Publicize Event and will advance to nationals
BROOKSIDE
Teresa Clay (Early Childhood Education junior) received a gold medal in the National Programs in Action Event and will advance to nationals; Mackenzie Glass (Early Childhood Education senior) received a gold medal in the Chapter Service Project Display Event; Aliyah Wilson (Career Exploration sophomore) received a gold medal in the Chapter in Review Display and will advance to nationals

Katie Brunecz (Culinary Arts junior) received a gold medal in the Culinary Team Event
