LCCC to host STEAM maker summer camps
Lorain County Community College’s summer STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) camps for children and teens in grades 3-12 are infused with creativity, digital fabrication technologies, and indoor and outdoor activities that will inspire innovative ideas and an inventor’s mindset, according to a news release from LCCC.
“Art, making and technology are woven into all of our STEAM Maker camps,” said Joan Perch, program and outreach coordinator. “In every camp, campers have lots of fun developing real- world skills and experimenting with 21st century technologies on creative projects.
“These are wonderful camps for all students, including those who might not be interested in technology, but are creative and love to make and build.”
Camps are grouped by grade and guided by an incredible staff of artists, educators, makers, technicians and college students, according to the release.
The low camper to staff ratio provides each camper with the support they need to take on individual and group art, technology, science and outdoor activities, the release said.
