• Visiting Mount Union (3-0, 2-0) built a 30-0 halftime lead on the way to a 37-14 triumph over John Carroll (2-1, 1-1). Andrew Roesch (Avon) had two tackles.

• Baldwin Wallace stopped a two-point conversion attempt in the final minutes to edge Heidelberg, 34-33. The Yellow Jackets (3-1, 2-1) scored 20straight points to take a seven-point lead with 2:51 remaining. Heidelberg answered with 33-yard TD pass with 1:37 remaining. But BW stopped the conversion run and hung on.

• Oberlin was off this week. The Yeomen next host Kenyon at 3 p.m. Oct. 5.

• Kahlil Robinson’s 40-yard intercepti­on return to the BYU 2-yard line in the final minute set up Shakif Seymour’s touchdown run to rally Toledo (3-1) to a 28-21 victory. Robinson’s pick of a Zach Wilson pass came immediatel­y after BYU’s Chaz Ah You stripped the ball from Rockets running back Bryant Koback and recovered it at the Cougars 20.

• Jaylon Bester ran for 107 yards and a touchdown and host Miami (Ohio) (2-3) scored 31straight points to race past Buffalo (2-3), 34-20, in the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams. Quarterbac­k Brett Gabbert started the comeback with a 1-yard plunge that cut the RedHawks’ deficit to 14-10.

• Michael Curtis threw for two touchdowns and ran for another and host UMass (1-4) defeated Akron (0-5), 37-29. UMass led, 20-14, at intermissi­on, but after the break, Curtis led the Minutemen on 12-play, 72-yard drive in four minutes for a 27-14 lead.

• Visiting Case Western Reserve (3-0, 2-0) had 10 sacks and forced three turnovers in a 37-6victory over Thiel. Drew Saxton threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns.

• Visiting Notre Dame College improved to 4-0 with a 40-20victory over previously unbeaten Urbana in the Mountain East. Jaleel McLaughlin rushed for 231 yards and two touchdowns, including a 73-yard TD run early in the fourth quarter to give the Falcons a 19-point lead. Zaire Mitchell caught five passes for 71yards and two scores.

• Lake Erie College (1-3) snapped a 16-game losing streak with a 49-42victory over visiting Kentucky Wesleyan. The Storm scored the game-winning TD on a screen pass from Javarian Smith to Eric Zokouri with 23 seconds remaining.

• Visiting Clemson stuffed North Carolina’s 2-point conversion attempt with 1:17 left and the No. 1 Tigers (5-0, 3-0 ACC) held off the Tar Heels (2-3, 1-1), 21-20. The Tigers had trouble all day in trying to extend their school-record winning streak to 20games. They didn’t go ahead for good until Trevor Lawrence hit Tee Higgins on a 38-yard touchdown pass with 9:54 left, then came up with the stop after the Tar Heels went for the lead instead of a tie after Javonte Williams’ short scoring run.

• Tua Tagovailoa and DeVonta Smith hooked up for five touchdown passes in No. 2 Alabama’s 59-31 victory over Mississipp­i (2-3, 1-1 SEC). The Crimson Tide (5-0, 2-0) trailed for the first time this season before flexing its muscles against the 37 1/2-point underdogs.

• Jalen Hurts passed for a career-high 415 yards and threw three touchdown passes in host No. 6 Oklahoma’s 55-15victory over Texas Tech (2-2, 0-1). Hurts also ran for 70yards and another score for the Sooners (4-0, 1-0 Big 12).

• Jonathan Taylor ran for 119 yards and his 11th touchdown of the season and host No. 8Wisconsin (4-0, 2-0Big Ten) got two scores from its defense in a 24-15win over Northweste­rn (1-3, 0-2).
