Firelands Physician Group receives excellence award on care

Firelands Physician Group in Sandusky has announced it was named a 2019 Pinnacle of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey.

The Pinnacle of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing clients from health care organizations nationwide on the basis of extraordinary achievement and consistently high levels of excellence for at least three years in patient experience, according to a news release.

Group has continually worked to make the patient experience a key pillar in their training, staff meetings and culture, the release said.

They review all feedback from patients with their care teams on a monthly basis and also meet with a patient and family advisory council to get formal input from patients throughout each year.

The Press Ganey Pinnacle of Excellence Award is a highly regarded symbol of achievement in the health care industry.

According to Jeremy Normington-Slay, president and CEO of Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, the award represents an important recognition from the industry’s leader in measuring, understanding and improving the delivery of care.
