ACC Adult Home Care locations are accepting egg donations to distribute to local food pantries and other in-need facilities. The “Be a Good Egg” drive has a goal of collecting at least 65 dozen eggs to give to local families, according to a news release from ACC Adult Home Care. The Vermilion location, 5425 Liberty Ave., will launch this program by partnering with Trinity Lutheran’s Grace’s Kitchen, 3747 Liberty Ave., the release said. For every meal ACC Adult Home Care sponsors, a dozen eggs will be donated to families in need, the release said. “The goal of ACC is to reach out to those in need in our communities as best we can,” said Melva Sherwood, founder and CEO of ACC Adult Home Care. “We are proud to be part of such a wonderful outreach and hope to continue to help in whatever way we can,” she said. To donate, drop off eggs to the cooler just inside the front door of the Vermilion ACC office, which is across from the Vermilion Boat Club, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The egg drive will last until April 30. Two other locations in Milan and North Olmsted also are participating in various charity donations in hopes to spread some cheer in their communities, according to the release. “There’s a lot of people who cannot leave their home and a scarcity of items, our goal is to make it a little easier for those in need,” said Missy Clay, owner of ACC Milan, 3 N. Main At. ACC Adult Home Care also is helping to do good by providing emergency kits to the elderly which include items like toilet paper, paper towels, soup and other nonperishable items, the release said. It also provided hand sanitizers and food donations to local nursing facilities and assisted living communities, according to the release.
