Frontline health care workers at Mercy HealthLorain Hospital were treated to lunch May 6 in recognition of their dedication.
Partnering with the Mercy Health Foundation, Brady Signs picked up the tab for lunch on National Nurses Day with the help of Hot Dog Heaven in Amherst.
Brady Signs designs all of the signs for Mercy Health-Lorain and MercyAllen Hospital in Oberlin.
Early on in the novel coronavirus pandemic, Ryan Brady, president of Brady Signs, reached out and asked how they could help.
Bringing together Hot Dog Heaven owner Chris Russo, another big supporter of Mercy Health Foundation, health care workers stood outside the entrance of Mercy HealthLorain waiting to get a taste.
In addition to designing signs for Mercy Health, Brady Signs has been a sponsor for the Mercy Golf Classic and The Taste of Friendship and has been the sole sponsor of its Bon Appetit event at Chez Francois for the Mercy HealthCancer Center.
“We are extremely proud to partner with Ryan and Chris,” said Lorie Pembik, development officer for the Mercy Health Foundation. “The community coming forward like this is overwhelming.
“We truly appreciate it.” Mercy Health-Lorain Market President Edwin Oley thanked community partners for their continued support.
“Our ministry was built by a philanthropic community, and nearly 130 years later, this community is still supporting our mission,” Oley said. “The many gifts of supplies, food and thank you notes from individuals and organizations continue to be received with an abundance of gratitude.
“Our health care teams arrive to our buildings each day to care for our patients and families throughout Lorain with compassion and skill. Today’s meal from Hot Dog Heaven and Brady Signs comes on the same day as the nation celebrates National Nurses’ Day. We very much appreciate their recognition of our health care heroes.”
