Business sponsors meals through Meals on Wheels
Westlake Meals on Wheels is receiving a sponsorship of meals from All Metal Sales in Westlake, according to a news release.
The program pairs residents wanting to donate with local restaurants to provide meals.
All Metal Sales owner Tom Klocker became aware of the program and wanted to help.
Klocker initiated the relationship by donating 400 disposable masks which will aid delivery drivers and those preparing meals in the Westlake Meals on Wheels kitchen, the release said.
All Metal Sales reached out to Barry Bagels in Avon to be part of the program, the release said.
Barry Bagels is being sponsored by All Metal Sales to provide a meal to 75 Westlake Meals on Wheels recipients every Wednesday for a month.
“We have so appreciated, not only the sponsorship of meals by All Metal Sales, but the new relationship with a business in the community,” said Marie PattenBlatter, Westlake Meals on Wheels executive director. “It’s a true testament to the overwhelming support we have seen from business leaders and community residents.”
Jenny Carter, managing partner of Barry Bagels, said the partnership was exciting and held a personal meaning to her.
“I was so excited when All Metal Sales contacted Barry Bagels Avon regarding this partnership with Meals on Wheels,” Carter said. “My mother and mother-in-law were active volunteers for a number of years with Meals on Wheels, so it was truly near and dear to my heart.
“We hope the recipients enjoyed their meals and we look forward to our future lunches with our community business partners.”
The program currently has 12 local restaurants
