The Abbewood chooses Watson as executive director

The Abbewood, an independent living and assisted living community located at 1210 S. Abbe Road in Elyria, is welcoming Executive Director Sharon Watson.

Watson has been with The Abbewood’s parent company, Century Park Associates, for more than two years, according to a news release.

Most recently she traveled in the compa- ny’s Central Region, training associates, the release said.

“Sharon’s dedication to mission, vision and values of Century Park made her a natural choice to lead the team at Abbewood,” said Chris Serdinak, regional director of operations for Century Park Associates.

Watson also has prior experience as an executive director and as a sales and marketing director for a large senior community, according to the release.

She has more than 20 years of experience in senior living and has a previous career in real estate, the release said.

“I was working with some senior home buyers and felt there was a real need to assist them in the next phase of their life,” Watson said in the release. “I really find a connection in talking with seniors that their history is where I am right now.

“That’s going to be me someday, and I hope someone listens to my stories.”

Watson was born and raised in Elyria and currently resides in Amherst.

She is an ordained licensed minister and has a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Watson and her husband, Mike, have two dogs, and a daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren living in Bowling Green, Ohio.
