Police seek facts in double homicide
Detectives request help from public identifying person of interest
The Lorain Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in the Feb. 13 double homicide of two Lorain women, according to a news release.
On March 8, investigators released two photos of the man police are trying to identify.
Abril Mills, 28, and Jerhonda Edwards, 29, suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the 1300 block of F Street, police said.
Both women were pronounced dead at the scene, said police.
The person of interest man is a Black man who was wearing a red jacket and gray sweatpants when seen exiting a vehicle in a parking lot.
Anyone with information on the man is asked to call Detective Kurt Graupmann at 440-204-2105 or 440204-2077.
Tipsters may remain anonymous.
Police say the murders also are linked to the theft of over $200,000 that occurred in Lorain on Feb. 3.
Tyra Parker, 24, of Euclid, is charged with felony counts of theft and falsifying a police report, and a misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business.
Parker, an ATM delivery driver, initially told police
the money went missing while making deliveries to ATM machines in Lorain.
Lorain police, with the assistance of U.S. Marshal Service, arrested Parker on Feb. 18 in connection with the theft of the $200,000 from the ATM delivery vehicle.
Investigators say instead of immediately contacting the police, Parker drove back to her prior location and asked to check the cameras at the store. The area she parked in did not capture her delivery vehicle, which police later learned was against company policy.
Officers continued to investigate and learned Parker was “missing”
$200,000 dollars.
Parker’s account of events began to change after further questioning by officers.
Police noted the delivery vehicle and lock box containing the cash had no signs of forced entry.
The investigation is continuing and no suspects in the killings have been arrested.
Parker is facing charges in Lorain County Common Pleas Court. She is free on a $150,000 bond awaiting her next court date.
