After a successful inaugural year, the Community Foundation of Lorain County announced its second Connect to a Cause event planned for Sept. 16, 2021.

Lorain County nonprofits interested in participating must register by March 31, according to a news release from the Community Foundation.

“Connect to a Cause is an opportunity to highlight the great work our non-profits are doing in our community,” said Cynthia H. Andrews, president and CEO of the Community Foundation. “People stepped up to raise over $147,000 to support 56 local nonprofits that quickly pivoted to provide emergency services and address social issues created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I encourage all Lorain County nonprofits to join us for this incredible event.”

Connect to a Cause is a coordinated, 12-hour virtual fundraising event that rallies community support for organizations serving Lorain County.

In addition to the March 31 registration deadline, all participating organizations must have an agency endowment fund at the Community Foundation by May 31, according to the release.

Once organizations are fully registered, informational webinars, marketing toolkits and other materials will support the promotion and generate excitement in the community, the release said.

The Community Foundation is looking for local businesses to join the campaign to help double the $21,000 pro-rata match to participating nonprofits.
