‘IT’S A BLESSING’
Area Quiznos co-owner grateful for loyal customers amid pandemic
Since 2004, Tony Faraj and his wife, Sue, have owned and operated a Quiznos sub restaurant at 1980 Cooper Foster Park in Lorain.
“I’ve been in fast food for 41 years and I like to have fun with it,” he said. “This business is family-owned and -operated.”
As the only Quiznos in the area, Faraj said this has given him a steady clientele.
The restaurant specializes in subs, soups and salads and offers freshly toasted bread for customers.
“It’s a blessing being the only Quiznos,” he said. “I have people that come from Avon Lake, Sandusky and all over.
“People say they enjoy our food. The quality of the food speaks for itself.”

The classic chicken and Italian subs take the title as fan favorites, he said.
Although the dining room has been closed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, Faraj said the business is doing well.
“When the dining room closed, we took a hit,” he said. “But, we still had takeout orders, online orders and delivery apps that helped keep us afloat.”
As the pandemic continued, he said he still was receiving orders from many of his regular customers.
“I think people really like us because they want a nice, fresh meal, and we give that to them,” Faraj said.
Faraj said his business is the way he and his family earn a living, and he’s unsure what would have happened if they went under.
“I’m proud and lucky to have clientele and repeat customers,” he said. “I hope it (the novel coronavirus) goes away quickly.
“It’s been so stressful on businesses, parents, teachers and students.”
