Mercy Health – Lorain announces wellness winners

-

Mercy Health – Lorain announced April 16 the winners of its annual employee wellness sweepstakes, surprising them each with a $5,000 travel voucher to anywhere.

Workplace wellness is a top priority for Mercy Health – Lorain, which focuses on taking care of its associates so they can continue to provide the quality and compassionate care to their community, according to a news release.

One way the organization supports employee wellness is through a program called, Be Well, the release said.

The program was recognized as one of the top workforce health programs in the U.S. last year by the Business Group on Health, a nonprofit association that advocates for large employers in health care policy.

The Be Well program provides access to online coaching, webinars, activity tracking and health management programs, as well as an annual well-being assessment and biometric health screening.

The program also offers incentives to encourage broader participation.

The two Mercy Health – Lorain employees were surprised with one of those incentives – a Recharge Retreat.

Noelle Haupt from the Radiology department, and Karen Swierz, who works in inpatient Hospice, both received a $5,000 travel voucher to use to go anywhere in the world, the release said.

The employees said they hope to travel somewhere with palm trees, whether that be Key West or the Bahamas.

To be eligible for the top prize, associates must participate in Be Well activities, challenges, programs and events to earn points toward entries in the end-ofyear sweepstakes, according to the release.

Winners are determined by random draw. Prizes include gift cards worth hundreds of dollars up to the grand prize travel voucher.
