FLAUNTING VINTAGE
Show attracts menagerie from classics to muscle cars, trucks
The Lorain Community Senior Center welcomed classic car enthusiasts on Aug. 22 for their All Start Vintage Car Show.
A collection of vintage automobiles including classic Model T Ford’s from the late 1920s to muscle cars and trucks were parked in support of a good cause.
The event included People’s Choice Awards, raffles and door prizes along with a DJ, food and refreshments, — all in support of the Lorain Community Senior Center and the programs and services they offer to local residents at 3361 Garfield Boulevard in Lorain.
Kevin Meyers of Lorain brought a 1973 Buick Century Regal, purchased in 2014 with only 46,012 miles on it from the original owner who bought it new off the lot at Joyce Buick in Lorain.
In a description of the vehicle, Meyers wrote he had his eye on the car for four years before finally getting the opportunity to purchase it.
Assembled in Flint with a 1973 purchase price of $3,700, the two-door hard top Buick Century Regal was the first generation of their line of luxury cars from 1973-1977.
Other participants brought the humorous side of classic vehicles, with one classic truck fitted with skeletons under the hood and in the passenger seat, with a license plate reading, “When all else fails, read in- structions.”
