Projects receive state funding

State Rep. Dick Stein announced the Ohio State Controllin­g Board recently approved two projects in Huron County to receive funding, according to a news release.

Both are renovation projects, the release said. “I’m very happy to announce significan­t local project funding has been approved by the Controllin­g Board to assist with improvemen­ts for the Norwalk Armory and Recovery Housing for the Huron County Board of Mental Health and Addiction Services,” the Norwalk Republican said.

The first project includes the approval of release of capital funds totaling $212,500 for a facility for women seeking recovery from substance use disorders, according to the release.

With state support, the Huron County Board of Mental Health and Addiction Services is committed to providing recovery services for 30 years, the release said.

The other approved measure released $34,750 to assist with renovation­s and improvemen­ts for the Norwalk Armory, according to the release.

The next Controllin­g Board meeting is scheduled for Aug. 30.
