Coroner Office: Couple’s deaths ruled accidental drowning

-

The Lorain County Coroner’s Office has determined that two missing people found in Lake Erie earlier this year died of accidental drowning.

The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office issued a news release Aug. 27 indicating that Nathan Orona, 20, of Lorain, and Alaina Camacho, 18, of Cleveland, suffered from asphyxia by drowning and hypothermia.

On March 28, a rescue team recovered Orona’s body after a fisherman spotted it.

A day later, divers recovered Camacho’s body in a gold 2004 Honda Accord in Lake Erie near the Hot Water boat launch.

Orona and Camacho were last seen Feb. 4 when they left the Sheffield Estates apartments on Oneil Drive in Lorain.
