Indians’ Allen impressess in loss

Despite a great pitching performanc­e from Indians’ Logan Allen, the Indians fall to the Red Sox, 4-3, following a three-run home run from Red Sox’s Jonathon Aruez.

Clippers (46-52): Triple A Columbus fell behind early against host Memphis on Aug. 27 in their 4-2 loss. The Clippers battled back in the fourth after Trenton Brooks sacrifice fly scored a run, and Oscar Gonzalez launched his ninth home run of the season in the sixth inning.

RubberDuck­s (61-38): Double A Akron held on to defeat host Somerset 4-2 in the 10th inning. Steven Kwan started the game with a lead off home run. A bases loaded walk and wild pitch in the 10th seeled the game for Akron. Adam Scott pitched six innings where he struck out seven and gave up just three hits. Captains (54-46): High-A Lake County topped visiting Great Lakes 5-0. Indians pitcher Aaron Civale made a rehab start with the Captains where he struck out four batters over 41⁄3 innings. Wilfri Peralta and Julian Escobedo drove in runs in the second and Jose Tena hit his 14th home run of the season.

Hillcats (48-52): LowA Lynchburg fell behind early and wasn’t able to rally against host Kannapolis in their 11-5 defeat. The Hillcats made an attempt to rally in the eighth with runs off of hits from Gabriel Rodriguez and Alexfri Planez.
