Crushers rally falls short against Schaumburg

- From Staff

The fourth inning was the undoing for the Lake Erie Crushers, as they fell to Schaumburg 5-1 on Aug. 27. The Crushers now sit at 35-46 on the year.

Paul Hall Jr. went 4 1/3 innings and struck out three batters, but gave up five hits with three coming in the fourth alone.

Lake Erie cut into the lead with a Karl Ellison home run in the seventh inning, and Zach Racusin and Steven Kraft brought runs across in the eighth to cut into the lead.

But the Crushers were unable to capitalize when they had runners on base, as eight runners were stranded.

Lake Erie will attempt to avenge their loss on Aug. 28, as they continue their series with Schaumburg.
