Total beauty experience Owner aims to make Bronze Beauties a one-stop shop
Ignore the naysayers, advises entrepreneur
An Avon Lake business is a one-stop shop for beauty needs.
Bronze Beauties Beauty Bar, located at 449 Avon Belden Road, is a full-service beauty bar that offers spray tanning, teeth whitening, nails, microblading, body contouring, waxing, facials, lash extensions and more.
Founder and CEO Samantha
Camel is a native of Avon Lake, but also has lived in Florida.
She is married to Rayshawn Camel and the mother of five children.
Balancing work and family life is really hard, but worth it, Camel said.
“My husband is very supportive,” she said. “No matter what I tried, or if it failed, he has supported me.”
At the beauty bar, Camel performs post op-care, body contouring, spray tanning, teeth whitening and tooth gems.
She is a certified group exercise instructor, dental assistant and soon-to-be certified manicurist.
Bronze Beauties used to be located inside a loft near the former movie theatre on East Lake Road in Avon Lake.
“I started out two years ago,” said Camel. “At first, I was just offering tanning and teeth whitening, but I got the adjacent loft for body contouring and postop care.
“I got really busy and wanted to expand but stay in the area.”
The grand opening for the current location was June 13.
Camel said she always has loved the beauty industry.
“The beauty world has evolved so much over the past couple years,” she said. “There’s so many different aspects involved.”
Camel said the inspiration for a full-service beauty bar came from her own experiences.
“When I used to work a 9-5, I normally only had one day off a week,” she said. “I noticed it was really hard to get my nails, lashes, everything done in one place.”
Camel said she has been a serial entrepreneur for several years.
“I’ve always wanted to have my own business,” she said. “I’ve tried so many avenues through sales, and when I settled on spray tanning, it took off.”
Camel said she advises entrepreneurs to keep going forward and ignore naysayers.
“A lot of people believe that people they know will support them, but it really comes from the most unlikely places,” she said. “Giving people a good experience makes all the difference.”
Bronze Beauties is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays.
