A new barbershop in North Ridgeville is bringing a modern atmosphere to a traditional craft.
Shear Elevations in North Ridgeville held a grand opening on Aug. 7 with husband and wife team Christopher and Desiray Minnick at 6001 Lear Nagle Road.
Mayor Kevin Corcoran joined family and friends in a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Desiray Minnick wants to thank the community for the warm welcome and overwhelming support.
“My husband and I are really excited to start bringing more business back into the city of North Ridgeville. We both came from a barbershop just one city over and almost 40 percent of our clientele was coming from North Ridgeville. Right now is our chance to not only bring the community back, but to also provide quality services at an affordable price, “Desiray Minnick said.
“We are very thankful for all the support we have received thus far, and we hope to continue to grow, as the city of North Ridgeville grows as well,” she added.
Both barbers for the past four years, the Sheffield Lake and Amherst natives relocated from Avon and want to bring people to the city in helping support North Ridgeville’s vibrant and growing community.
“The problem was is North Ridgeville was losing their clientele to other cities. So our solution is just tempering the clientele that’s leaving because of the other barber shops that are packed here and just give everyone a good quality haircut. We want the modern experience but we also do old school shapes and everything still,” Chris Minnick said.
A modern atmosphere with a spacious location, Shear Elevations is continuing the traditional approach, offering face shaves that a lot of barber shops no longer offer. The Minnicks want to welcome the community to the barbershop.
“We want to be North Ridgeville’s barber and we want to just keep them here and give them a good enough and consistent experience so that they keep coming,” Chris said.
