4 arrested in Amherst prostitution sting
Amherst Police Department, Cuyahoga County Human Trafficking Task Force and Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office Investigative Unit conducted a joint enforcement operation focused on suspected human trafficking and prostitution activity earlier this month.
During the Aug. 19 operation, officers and investigators made contact with several males and females at 704 N. Leavitt Road, resulting in four arrests including a 36-year-old Lorain man charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of engaging in prostitution; a 48-year-old Sheffield Lake man charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of engaging in prostitution; and a 36-year-old Lorain man charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of engaging in prostitution, according to a news release from Amherst police.
Thaddeus J. Salomon, 31, of Marietta, was charged with promoting prostitution, a fourth degree felony. and possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony.
Additional investigations are pending, and further charges may be forthcoming, the release said.
