The Olmsted Falls Lady Bulldogs continued their red-hot start to the high school volleyball season with impressive and efficient dispatching of Elyria in a Southwestern Conference Clash.

Olmsted Falls swept away the Pioneers by scores of 25-15, 25-15 and 25-18. The Bulldogs, who return just two players from last year’s squad that lost in the Division II state final, improved to 9-0 on the season, while Elyria, dropped to 1-2.

Senior outside hitter Riley Victor led the Olmsted Falls attack with 15 kills while athletic junior Kyle Urban, a 5-foot-8 junior outside hitter/setter, finished with eight kills for the Bulldogs. Claire Schultz added six kills. Addie Oden collected 20 digs, Alex Palmer nine digs and Urban six digs for Olmsted Falls.

The fact Olmsted Falls has played twice the amount of games most teams have played at this point is no mistake. Olmsted Falls coach Brigid Radigan loads her schedule up with a lot of games early in the season before the drain from school and playing volleyball wears the girls down.

“By the end of the year, they are tired. We try to overload and play them as much at the beginning of the season so we can rest them a little more and hopefully peak toward the end of the season,” said Radigan.

The Bulldogs might not be at peak form, but they are playing some entertaining and dominant volleyball in the early going.
