Mary Martha Bates

Mary Martha Bates passed away on September 1, 2021. She was born February 8, 1936. She lived the majority of her life in Lorain, Ohio. Mary also resided in Denver, Colorado and San Rafael, California.

Mary is survived by daughter Karen Sue Taylor of Bath, Ohio. Grandchildren Craig Taylor of Bath, Ohio, and Lindsay (Thomas II) of Richfield, Ohio. Great-grandchildren Thomas David Tadsen III, and Taylor Rose Tadsen. Godson and nephew Thomas (Mary) Springowski, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Wallace W. Bates Jr. in 1990. Daughter Kathryn Bates in 1963 and son Thomas S. Bates at age 51. Parents Charlotte and Ted Springowski. Brother Paul Springowski. Son-in-law Gary L. Taylor.

Mary donated her body to The Cleveland Clinic Body Donation Program for the advancement of medical science.

Internment of her cremains will take place at a later date next to her husband at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
