Milan man injured in motorcycle crash

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Norwalk Post is investigat­ing a two-vehicle crash that occurred Sept. 2 in Norwalk Township that left a 42-year-old Milan man injured.

The crash occurred at 3:46 p.m. on state Route 601, south of Gibbs Road in Norwalk Township, according to a news release from the highway patrol.

A 30-year-old Louisiana man was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup southeast on Route 601 and failed to yield the right of way when turning left and was struck by a motorcycle the Milan man was operating, according to police.

The driver of the pickup, who was wearing his seat belt, suffered no injuries, according to police.

The Milan man was riding a 2005 Honda VXT1300C northwest on Route 601 when he struck the side of the pickup and was thrown from the motorcycle, the release said.

He was wearing a helmet and suffered serious injuries, the release said.

He was transporte­d to Fisher Titus Medical Center by North Central EMS before being flown to Cleveland Metro Hospital.

Alcohol and drug use do not appear to be contributi­ng factors in the crash, the release said.
