ODOT announces 2 road projects to begin

The Ohio Department of Transporta­tion says that two road projects will begin the day after Labor Day.

The Ohio Department of Transporta­tion has announced that two road projects will begin the day after Labor Day.

In a news release from the state transporta­tion department, officials said state Route 113 and Baumhart Road intersecti­on will close Sept. 7 for an intersecti­on improvemen­t project that will convert the current signalized intersecti­on to a single-lane roundabout.

The detour route for eastbound motorists on Route 113 is Route 113 east to state Route 60, north on Route 60 to state Route 2, east on Route 2 to state Route 58, south on Route 58 to Route 113, and reverse for westbound motorists, the release said.

The detour route for northbound motorists on Baumhart Road will be Baumhart Road north to state Route 511, east on Route 511 to Route 58, north on Route 58 to Route 2, west on Route 2 to Baumhart Road, and reverse for southbound motorists.

Estimated completion date is Nov. 21, the release said.

Also, state Route 252, between Squire Road and Emmons Road, will close Sept. 7 for constructi­on of a drilled shaft wall, according to a news release from ODOT.

The detour route for southbound motorists will be state Route 252 to state Route 82, west on Route 82 to state Route 83, south on Route 83 to state Route 303, east on Route 303 to Route 252, and reverse for northbound motorists.

Estimated completion date is Sept. 30, according to the release.
