LOSS Team seeks volunteers

Teams support survivors coping with suicide

The Lorain County LOSS Team (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors) at the Nord Center continues its mission serving individuals who are impacted by the loss of someone to suicide by providing support, awareness of community resources and suicide prevention services.

“We have a need for qualified volunteers,” according to a news release from Lorain County LOSS Team. “The Lorain County LOSS team is based on a national program which provides support to survivors bereaved by a suicide loss.”

A volunteer training will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., Sept. 9, at the Lorain Public Library System North Ridgeville Branch, 35700 Bainbridge Road in North Ridgeville.

Volunteers must be 18 years or older, pass a background check, successfully complete a four-hour training, post program interview and screening process and have access to reliable transportation, according to the release.
