Avon Lake police are continuing their investigation of a suspected murder-suicide early this week involving two adults and two children at a residence in the 32000 block of English Turn.

Avon Lake police Lt. Sean Bockelman said Sept. 9 that investigators strongly suspect the incident to be a murder-suicide with 50-year-old Jeffrey Hull fatally shooting 46-year-old Heidi Hull and two children, Grant Hull, 9, and Garrett Hull, 6, and a family dog before shooting himself.

Bockelman noted investigators will not be able to get 100 percent confirmation until they have concluded processing all of the evidence and receive the report from the Lorain County Coroner’s Office.

Avon Lake police were dispatched to the house for a welfare check at 1:18 p.m. Sept. 7 where the four deceased individuals were located.

Officers saw a suspicious condition inside the house and requested detectives to respond to the scene.
