Chet Seroka, age 99, entered into rest on Monday, September 6, 2021. He was born on July 20, 1922 in Norwalk, Ohio and lived in Avon Lake for over 60 years coming from Lorain.

Chet attended Clearview High School and joined the Merchant Marines in 1942 and served his country for over 7 years. He was a mechanic and owner of his own service stations, Chet’s Sunoco in Lorain and Avon Lake. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Avon Lake and a member of the Knights of Columbus Fr. Ragan

He is survived by his daughter Sue (Brad) Zelasko, son Chet (Terese) Seroka, grandchild­ren Michelle, Tony, Caroline, Kristen, Katelyn and Colleen, seven greatgrand­children and his sister Mary Bartlome.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years Mary (nee Hrenya) Seroka, parents Anthony & Mary (nee Butkowski) Seroka, brother Joseph and sisters, Esther Miller and Vicky Shopoff.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 9:15 am until time of Mass at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 32929 Lake Road, Avon Lake. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Avon at 12:15 pm. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to St. Joseph School, Avon Lake
