Matt Koch (4-2) earned the win with two shutout innings of relief, striking out three.
Leadoff man Steven Kwan belted a two-run home run in the third.
• Thomas Pointicelli and two relievers combined on a four-hitter as Double-A Akron (70-42) breezed past host Richmond, 5-1.
Ponticelli (7-5) allowed one run on three hits in 5 1/3 innings. Jake Miednik struck out four in 2 2/3 shutout innings of relief.
George Valera hit a solo home run in the fourth.
