Lora J. Peterson

Lora J. Peterson, age 82, entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 12, 2021.

She was born on April 27, 1939 in Wellsville, New York and lived in Avon for over 56 years coming from the Southern Tier of New York. She graduated from Richburg High School in 1957 and worked at Avon High School for over 29 years. She was very active in several ministries and was a greeter at Anchor Church in Avon Lake and supported several missionaries outside of church as well. She was a member of the University Hospital Health Center, and supporter of Workshop Players in Amherst. Lora enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children David (Laura) Peterson of Marysville, Christopher (Wanda) Peterson of Avon and Lori (Curt) Leckron of Stateline, PA., grandchildren Emily, Jacob, Twins Luke and Jack, Sarah, Lillian, Rachel, Jillian and Jeremy, great-grandchildren Adam and Madeline, sisters Edith Blouvet and Twin Cora Greene.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard C. Peterson and siblings Harold, Hazel, and Clarence.

The family will receive friends on Thursday September 16, 2021 from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm and Friday from 10:30 am until time of service at 11:30 am at the MISENCIK FUNERAL HOME, 36363 Detroit Rd. Avon followed by interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Memorial contributions may be made in Lora’s memory c/o the Misencik Funeral Home for cancer research and various missions.
