FSO School of Music returns to in-person lessons
The Firelands Symphony Orchestra School of Music begins the Fall 2021 session of music lessons for all ages, both inperson and online, according to a news release.
After abandoning inperson music instruction for a year and a half, the school is resuming its slate of affordable music lessons from highly qualified instructors, the release said.
The school offers beginner through advanced lessons for all ages in piano, guitar, voice, strings, brass and woodwinds.
Lessons are located in Mylander Hall on the BGSU Firelands Campus in Huron.
The facility features six state-of-the-art Wenger SoundLok Sound-Isolation Rooms to provide a high-end acoustical environment for uninterrupted music instruction and rehearsal.
With the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020, the school was forced to only offer virtual lessons.
However, since the recent re-opening of the BGSU Firelands Campus, the Firelands Symphony Orchestra has reinstated the traditional model of hands-on, in-person instruction, the release said.
“We are so grateful to build arts appreciation and hone the skills of future musicians,” said Firelands Symphony Orchestra Executive Director Tricia Applegate. “An education in music offers so many benefits to the quality of life and sharpness of the mind for all ages.”
The school is accepting lesson registrations which start at $20 each.
