Elyria man arrested on fireworks charges
A 35-year-old Elyria man is behind bars on charges that he possessed illegal fireworks Sept. 23.
Jeremy J. Davis was charged with unlawful possession of a dangerous ordnance, a fifth-degree felony, and having weapons under disability, a thirddegree felony, according to a news release from Elyria police.
At 8 a.m., the Elyria Police Department in collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at 702 East Ave.
This was in regards to an ongoing investigation into a fireworks complaint at that location, the release said.
Detectives arrived and located commercial grade fireworks, according to the release.
The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad Unit arrived to properly handle the fireworks.
Davis was transported to the Lorain County Jail with no bond and he will remain there until his court date Sept. 24, the new release said.
