Violet Beam
Violet Beam (nee: Bozicevich), 92 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Amherst Manor Nursing Home following a full and meaningful life.
Violet was born May 22, 1929 in South Amherst and lived out the remainder of her life in the Amherst, Lorain area. She graduated with the class of 1947 from South Amherst High School.
She was a devoted wife and mother and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Violet worked for Scrubby’s Bar as a kitchen worker for ten years. She enjoyed bowling, polka dancing, puzzles, crossword puzzles, and her favorite game show “Jeopardy”. By far her greatest treasure was her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children Douglas Beam (Debbie) of Amherst; Denise Beam of Lorain; Brenda Owens (Gary) of Amherst Twp.; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren with one on the way; and her brother Daniel Bozicevich.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband of twentythree years Richard Beam; her son Bruce Beam in 1989; and her daughter Cindy Rainey in 2019; and her parents Frank and Anna Bozicevich (nee: Baric), and her seven siblings.
The family will receive friends from 8:30 am until the time of the mass at 9 am on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr. Timothy O’Connor will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
