Good Knights partners with Lowe’s to build beds for needy children

Elyria project set for Oct. 2

Good Knights, a nonprofit organizati­on dedicated to providing complete beds to children in need in Lorain County, will build beds from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Oct. 2, in Lowe’s parking, 646 Midway Blvd. in Elyria.

Volunteers will build 50 beds for children in Elyria, according to a news release from Good Knights, a nonprofit organizati­on.

Lunch will be provided, the release said.

If you can’t make it on Oct. 2, Good Knights will need help from 6-7:30 p.m., Oct. 1, to cut materials, according to the release.

“Lowe’s of Elyria is happy to fund another bed build event for our community,” said Brittany Roberts, manager of Lowe’s Elyria in the news release. “We are thankful for the partnershi­p with Good Knights of Lorain County and look forward to helping local families in need.“

Roger Dorsey, executive director of Good Knights of Lorain County, said he is thankful for Lowe’s contributi­on to the nonprofit organizati­on.

”Lowe’s has been our community partner that has provided lumber for over 2,000 beds for children in Lorain County,“Dorsey said.
