Police arrest son in car shooting murder

Elyria police arrested a 22-year-old Lorain man and charged him with aggravated murder after he allegedly shot and killed his father Sept. 27, according to an Elyria Police Department news re- lease.

Lamar Cortez Hudson Jr. allegedly shot and killed 41-year-old Lamar C. Hudson, of Elyria, just after 11 p.m., police said.

Police did not say what led them to arrest the younger Hudson in connection with the murder and provided no details on the arrest.

The younger Hudson is in the Lorain County Jail and will make his initial court appearance Sept. 29.

The elder Hudson suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Elyria police.

Officers responded at 11:15 p.m. to the 1400 block of Gulf Road after receiving a call of shots fired.

They found a 1998 Chevrolet Camaro stopped southbound in front of 1432 Gulf Road, the release said.

Hudson was inside the Camaro.

Elyria police detectives are investigating.
